Engineering Disclaimer

Lydmera Limited provides software tools for engineering calculations relating to swimming pool heat loads, energy requirements, equipment sizing, HVAC sizing for pool environments, and related thermal analysis. These tools are designed to assist qualified engineers, MEP consultants, building services engineers, pool industry specialists, and other engineering professionals in their work.

Professional verification required

Lydmera is not a substitute for the professional judgment of a qualified engineer, mechanical engineer, building services consultant, or pool industry specialist. All calculations, outputs, recommendations, and reports produced by the Lydmera platform must be reviewed, validated, and approved by a competent professional before being applied to real-world pool design, equipment specification, procurement, construction, installation, or operation.

No warranty of fitness for purpose

Lydmera Limited makes no warranty, express or implied, that any calculation, output, recommendation, or report is suitable for any particular application, project, jurisdiction, or set of operating conditions. Calculations are based on standard engineering methodologies (including but not limited to ASHRAE, CIBSE, SPASA, FINA, DIN 19643, BS EN 15288 where applicable) applied to inputs provided by the user.

Performance calculations produced by Lydmera can in some situations significantly over- or under-estimate actual performance. Lydmera cannot be held liable where actual performance of a real pool system differs from calculated values.

User responsibility

The user is solely responsible for:

  • Verifying the accuracy and completeness of all inputs to the platform
  • Applying appropriate engineering safety factors and design margins
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable building codes, standards, regulations, and licensing requirements in the relevant jurisdiction
  • Selecting equipment and materials suitable for the specific application
  • Verifying that calculation methodologies are appropriate for the specific project type, climate, occupancy, and use case
  • Verifying that calculations performed in either imperial or metric units have been converted accurately for the intended application, equipment, and jurisdiction
  • Engaging additional specialist consultants where required (structural, electrical, hydraulic, control systems, water treatment)

Limitations of automated calculation

The Lydmera platform produces calculations based on the inputs provided. It cannot account for site-specific conditions, unusual building configurations, atypical occupancy patterns, special materials, microclimate effects, or other factors that may affect real-world performance. Professional engineering judgment is required to identify and adjust for these factors.

No liability for reliance

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lydmera Limitedshall not be liable for any loss, damage, equipment failure, energy waste, occupant discomfort, structural issue, mould or condensation problem, code violation, regulatory penalty, project delay, cost overrun, or any other consequence (whether direct, indirect, consequential, special, or punitive) arising from reliance on Lydmera's calculations, outputs, or recommendations without independent professional engineering verification.

Acknowledgment

By using Lydmera, the user acknowledges and agrees that:

  • They are a qualified professional or acting under the direct supervision of one
  • They will exercise independent engineering judgment when applying Lydmera's outputs
  • They have read and accepted these disclaimers
  • They will ensure all real-world applications of Lydmera's outputs are reviewed and approved by appropriate qualified personnel

Methodology version

Lydmera's calculation engine implements methodologies from the standards listed above. The current engine version is displayed in the application footer. Outputs include the methodology version used so that calculations can be reviewed against the appropriate reference.
